32Guards consolidates the email traffic metadata of all participating instances of the NoSpamProxy suite in a GDPR-compliant manner. Currently, around 30 million emails with 10 million attachments and 300 million links from German-speaking countries are analyzed each week. In order to be able to specifically find local trends and patterns, the focus is on business email traffic in the DACH region. For example, 32Guards discovered Workday Spam, an unusual spam wave in the DACH region, through data from the past few months.
As of now, 32Guards also receives government funding: As part of the law on tax incentives for research and development, 32Guards receives the Forschungszulage (research allowance), a tax benefit for research expenditures. All companies subject to taxation in Germany are eligible for the research allowance, regardless of size, legal form or industry. The allowance is intended to provide incentives to invest in research and development (R&D, FuE), insofar as these can be assigned to one or more of the categories basic research, industrial research or experimental development.
The aim is to strengthen Germany as an investment location and to stimulate the research activities of small and medium-sized enterprises in particular.
