NoSpamProxy update cycles: Maximum email security thanks to regular updates

It is essential for companies to continuously update and improve their IT systems. We meet this need with a sophisticated update system for the two products NoSpamProxy Server and NoSpamProxy Cloud. Through regular updates, we ensure that NoSpamProxy users always benefit from the latest features and optimum security.

NoSpamProxy Cloud

Updates for NoSpamProxy Cloud are rolled out on a monthly basis. These updates contain bug fixes and new features and are announced on status.cloud.nospamproxy.com. The release notes for the corresponding versions can be viewed at docs.nospamproxy.com.

NoSpamProxy Server

NoSpamProxy Server is released in two channels, the regular channel and the fast channel.

Regular channel

The regular channel receives quarterly feature updates. These are the latest versions from the fast channel.

Critical or important bug fixes that affect a large customer base are fixed in the regular channel if necessary and released at irregular intervals. In addition to bug fixes, the versions in the regular channel usually contain new features. As all features are extensively tested, these versions have a longer lead time in quality assurance than versions in the fast channel. In addition, these versions are used as productive installations by selected users around four weeks before release.

Fast channel

The fast channel receives monthly bugfix updates and quarterly feature updates.

These versions only contain bug fixes, which is why the lead time in quality assurance is shorter. The tests are limited to the basic functions including installation and update. In addition, the functions that have received an error correction are tested. After the quality assurance tests, these versions also run as productive installations for around two weeks before release to selected users.

The NoSpamProxy Command Center allows you to choose between the two channels. Corresponding updates are displayed accordingly.

Switching between the channels is always possible if the version of the other channel is higher than that of the channel currently in use.

Versioning

With the adjustment of our update cycle, there is also an adjustment of the version numbers. A quarterly feature update is usually represented by the minor version and pure bugfix updates by the patch version. We increase the major version of NoSpamProxy when there are major or significant changes in the product that deserve special attention.
