The multiple award-winning email security solution NoSpamProxy is now available in version 14. This was announced today by the manufacturer Net at Work from Paderborn. The new version comes up with many functions that are unique and trend-setting for the industry.
Full support of the S/MIME 4 standard
NoSpamProxy Server is the first mail gateway to master and support this standard. Since version 13.2, NoSpamProxy has offered authenticated encryption (AES-GCM) as an essential part of the S/MIME 4 standard. Starting with version 14, NoSpamProxy also supports certificates based on elliptic curves (ECC). As the only product in its class, NoSpamProxy thus fulfills the recently updated requirement of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for federal projects: Technical Guideline BSI TR-03116 explicitly recommends the use of S/MIME 4.0. All other public institutions, KRITIS structures and administrations should also rely on this new protection standard in order to be even more secure and at the same time fit for the future.
Keep an eye on the bigger picture with 32Guards
The metadata service 32Guards is a cloud-based reputation system developed by Net at Work that can evaluate attachments and URLs in emails ad hoc across customers and also uses Big Data analytics and data science to identify new trends and attack patterns. Since quarter 1/2020, the metadata service has been available as a project in beta version and is now part of the standard. All participating users of NoSpamProxy thus benefit from the shared knowledge of new threats. With its focus on the German-speaking region, the service is unique and thus offers its users special protection.
Web App for easier administration
The new NoSpamProxy Web App offers a new, HTML-based administration interface. It allows administrators to use a new message tracking that is significantly faster and more powerful than the previous MMC-based variant. Numerous search and filter functions make it possible to find messages quickly. The details then clearly show how the individual checks turned out and whether there were any problems with delivery. Other administration tasks such as the management of marketing disclaimers and large files handling as well as the new reporting can also be found there. The Web App is used both for configuring the cloud and for administering the on-premises variant and makes work much easier.
Multi-tenant capability for administrators in larger companies.
With version 14 of NoSpamProxy, full multi-tenant capability is available. This means that administrators of different companies or in larger company groups can each be provided with their own, closed configuration area. The respective administrators can only see the emails of their own tenant in the message tracking. Within NoSpamProxy Server it is also ensured that emails are always processed separately by tenants. The multi-tenant capability is interesting for heterogeneous corporate structures as well as for service providers.
Numerous new functions and enhancements
For example, the new version offers Authenticated Received Chain, or ARC for short. This latest technology from the field of sender reputation solves a known problem when using SPF, DKIM and DMARC. When messages are forwarded through intermediaries such as account forwarders or mailing lists, DKIM and SPF signatures can become invalid. ARC solves this problem by signing and thus preserving the original authentication results of an email.
Flow Guard, which is also new, makes it possible to control the volume of outbound emails. In this way, unwanted mass mails, whether generated by innocent users or triggered by malware, can be detected before they are sent externally and the reputation of the user’s own domain can be protected.

Cloud and on-premises are equally supported
With the major release of version 14, Net at Work is also making its claim clear that it will continue to develop the cloud service and the classic on-premises version on an equal footing. New features are included in the cloud version in a timely manner and are added to the on-premises version with each major release. Net at Work thus offers the same level of security and modern technology “Made in Germany” in both deployment models.
