Extension of the certificate chain at the Bundesagentur für Arbeit and others

27.05.2024|Last edited:05.03.2025

From June 14, 2024, there will be a new certificate chain for email encryption for the Bundesagentur für Arbeit, the Jobcenters and the Institut für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung. Find out what you need to do now in our blog article.

From June 14, 2024, the email encryption certificate chain for the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (@arbeitsagentur.de), the Jobcenters (@jobcenter-ge.de) and the Institut für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung (@iab.de) will be extended. The following Certificate Authorities (CAs) have been added:

  • New root CA: BA-Class-1-Root-CA-4
  • New issuing CA: BA-VPS-CA-11

Make sure that you import the certificates of the two new CAs onto your system before June 13, 2024. Otherwise, newly issued certificates for encryption cannot be classified as trustworthy and you will not be able to send encrypted emails to the relevant recipients.

You can find the new certificates on the website of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit.
