DigiCert S/MIME Class 1: The right choice for encryption only
For the issuance of a Class 1 certificate, only the existence of the requested email address is checked by the certification authority. The certificate can therefore be delivered quickly and without further requirements. Due to its limited scope of verification, however, its significance as a signature is only limited. It contains neither information about the owner (Class 2) nor the company in which the sender is active.
DigiCert S/MIME Premium Class 2: Ideal for encryption and signing
For the issuance of this certificate, the identity and authorisation of the organisation is checked once by DigiCert. Subsequently, certificates can be retrieved independently around the clock without an individual check. It offers the possibility for secure encryption and signing of emails.
Full compliance with GDPR
When using DigiCert certificates, customers can be sure that personal data is stored and processed exclusively in accordance with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
