Terminations and changes
Certain software versions will no longer be supported in the future version 14 of the NoSpamProxy. To avoid problems when updating from version 13.2 to version 14, you should check your infrastructure early and update software that is no longer supported.
The following discontinuations do not affect version 13.2 but only version 14.
The new minimum requirements of version 14 are as follows:
- Windows Server 2012R2 must run at least with SQL Express 2017
- from Windows Server 2016 on, at least SQL Express 2019 must be used
- SQL Server Standard/Enterprise is independently supported starting with version 2012 SP4#
- .NET 4.8
Connectors
E-mail letter connector
The connector is no longer included as of version 14. Existing connectors are deleted during migration.
Connector to the German Office 365
The connector is no longer included as of version 14. Existing Office 365 accounts to the German Azure Cloud are removed during migration.
Databases
The use of current versions of SQL Express enables lower memory consumption, faster searches and generally better performance.
SQL Express 2016 and lower on Windows Server 2012 R2
SQL Express 2016 and lower are no longer supported in combination with Windows Server 2012 R2
SQL Express 2017 and lower on Windows Server 2016 and later
SQL Express 2017 and lower are no longer supported in combination with Windows Server 2016 and later.
SQL Server Standard/Enterprise 2012 SP3 and lower
These versions are no longer supported. The minimum version is SQL Server Standard/Enterprise 2012 Service Pack 4.
Server
Windows Server 2012 and lower
These versions are no longer supported.
Miscellaneous
.NET Framework 4.7.2
This version is no longer supported. The minimum requirement is the .NET Framework 4.8 from version 14. This may be installed by setup.
Proxy mode
Proxy mode is no longer included as of version 14. Existing configurations are migrated to queue mode. The reason for this change is security features of NoSpamProxy that are not possible in proxy mode, such as attachment management and URL Safeguard.
