How have spam and malware developed in 2023 and what is working-day spam?
As the year drew to a close, the 32Guards research team at Net at Work took stock in this research note with findings from the defence against spam and malware in 2023 compared to the previous year. This research note also explains new phenomena that primarily affect the DACH region, such as working day spam and short-run spam. In our deep dive, we use these examples to show how analysing temporal patterns can help with spam detection.
As always, there is a special focus on email traffic in German-speaking countries, which makes the assessments and specific recommendations particularly valuable for all email administrators and other IT security managers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, regardless of which email security products they use.
