NoSpamProxy offers automated certificate management for DFN and HARICA

The new integration significantly reduces the administrative effort required for email encryption and enables seamless integration of HARICA certificates into the existing infrastructures of universities and research institutions across Europe.

NoSpamProxy, the manufacturer of the email security product of the same name, announces the availability of an advanced integration for automated certificate management for universities and research institutions. The solution supports HARICA certificates for email encryption and can be used via national research and education networks such as Germany’s DFN, as well as comparable local institutions throughout Europe.

HARICA, headquartered in Greece, is a globally recognized and trusted certification authority. It participates in all major root CA trust programs and acts as a trust anchor for common application software and operating systems. As a result, HARICA certificates are well suited for secure email communication in academic and research environments across Europe.

„Without much back and forth, NoSpamProxy created a new connection for DFN/HARICA, saving us a lot of work. That’s customer focus in action.“

Marios Charitos, IT System Administrator MSH Medical School Hamburg

Automated certificate management reduces the burden on IT administration

With HARICA certificates and NoSpamProxy Encryption, emails can be securely encrypted to ensure confidentiality. By integrating HARICA into NoSpamProxy’s automated certificate management, manual certificate requests and renewals are no longer required. When a certificate expires or a new user is added, NoSpamProxy automatically requests a new certificate from HARICA—whether via DFN or another participating national institution—and seamlessly integrates it into the existing email infrastructure. Corresponding Entra-ID groups allow the administration to set up basic email encryption in the organization. Certificate management is then automated via NoSpamProxy.

„NoSpamProxy’s automated certificate management drastically reduces the manual administration effort required for email encryption. We are therefore delighted that NoSpamProxy also supports the new DFN/HARICA configuration and that it is running smoothly.“

Markus Bitter, Head of Collaboration Software, University Hospital Essen (AöR)

NoSpamProxy impresses with long-term commitment to DFN

The Paderborn-based manufacturer has already supported automated certificate management for certificates obtained via DFN in the past. Automated certificate management was also possible with the previous provider, Sectigo. When DFN changed providers, NoSpamProxy quickly developed the missing connection as a product extension.

„As a European-focused manufacturer, it is a natural step for us to support research and education networks across borders. With the new HARICA integration, academic institutions can significantly reduce administrative overhead while using trusted, cost-efficient certificates for secure email communication.“

Stefan Cink, Director Business and Professional Services NoSpamProxy
