New features in 25Reports: more control, more security, more transparency
Email security requirements are increasing and becoming increasingly complex. Companies not only have to implement DMARC, but also ensure that their configuration is correct and secure at all times. This is exactly where 25Reports comes in, and with the latest update, the platform is now even more powerful: alerts, access management, and reseller settings bring significant improvements for IT teams and resellers.
Recognizing misuse or forgotten senders
If non-DMARC-compliant emails appear, you should check whether your own sender has been forgotten or whether spammers are trying to abuse your domain.
It makes sense to set up this alert once the basic setup is complete—i.e., once you have entered all valid senders in the SPF record, set up DKIM, and set the DMARC record to p=reject. Non-DMARC-compliant emails will then be rejected.
Optimize DMARC configuration
Ideally, emails should pass both the SPF and DKIM checks. However, only one of the two checks is necessary to pass DMARC, which is why it can be useful to find out about a high number of compliant emails that have failed one of the two checks. This enables the alert for DMARC-compliant emails that have failed either SPF or DKIM.
If an email only passes the SPF check, this may indicate an email system where the DKIM signature is not applied correctly. If, on the other hand, only the DKIM check is passed, this may be an indication of forwarding or a new IP address that has not yet been recorded.
By monitoring compliant email traffic for anomalies, an optimal configuration can be ensured.
Detect changes in the DNS immediately
Alerts about changes to SPF or DMARC records are helpful during every phase of setup, as they ensure you are always informed about changes to DNS records. This is particularly useful if you are unable to change the DNS records yourself, as it allows you to check whether everything has been set up according to your requirements. The interface displays a comparison of old and new entries and highlights any changes. With the help of domain evaluation, you can immediately check whether the new entry is causing any problems.
The alert also monitors includes and shows which changes have taken place there. This is particularly relevant when using external service providers such as newsletter providers, over which you have no control.
Access management: Full control over user rights
Customers can now decide for themselves which users have access to 25Reports. Administration takes place directly in the portal and is simple, secure, and flexible. This allows companies to retain full control over their user rights without having to contact support.
Further improvements
Country flags in DMARC reports
Country flags for sender IP addresses help to distinguish legitimate senders from potential spammers. The table for DMARC reports now displays a country flag next to the sender IP addresses found, a country flag is also displayed. This indicates the country of origin of an IP address. This information can be used as an indication of whether it is a forgotten email system or a spammer. If you do not know all the country flags by heart, you can also display the country name by clicking on the flag.
Why 25Reports is now indispensable
In addition to the new features, the core of 25Reports remains the same: intelligent DMARC monitoring and alerting provides warnings in the event of anomalies and enables configuration errors to be quickly detected and further damage to be prevented. 25Reports also provides clear recommendations for improving your domain security.
